Meet the team:
John Rowland

I started riding with Cheltenham and County cycling club back in 1974. My first week-long tour was in 1975 along with the first race experience. Since then I've raced and toured extensively.

I first met up with Pete (our workshop technician) during the 1978 Harrogate cycling festival. I started working in the cycle trade straight out of school back in 1980 and never looked back. I hope to make a comeback in racing or at least dabble. But the older I get, the faster I was.

Ben

I'm known as the shop racer having ridden both national mountain bike and cyclo cross events with the odd regional road race. Like Pete and Jon I'm a mountain biker at heart. My proudest moments on a bike have come in the last few years with my results in 24hr races. (3rd 2003 mountain mayhem elite team, 1st 2007 Bontrager 24hr mens team).

Just like the rest of the lads I'm into the technical side of bikes and like nothing more than a tricked out race bike, even if it's not mine!

Over the past few years I've also become known as the shop tea boy but as I always say it's more a case of if you want something doing right...

Pete
I’ve been part of the bike trade now for 32 years!... I first met John 30 years ago on the CTC birthday rides, we reacquainted our friendship six years ago when I joined the Cheltenham Cycles team.

My racing years are well behind me... my riding now is for pleasure, mainly offroad.

I’ve a liking for matching bike swag and most things “ Hope” (gold of course) and sitting down and building a nice pair of wheels. I've built hundreds over the years, road and mountain, a podium position in a downhill world cup was achived on wheels built by myself. I’ve wrenched for various pro and amateur riders both on the road and offroad. I have a craving for custard creams and a liking for Ben's 9 o’clock morning coffee: just the kick start needed for the busy day ahead!
Alison Rowland

I started riding with the Cheltenham section of the CTC. I then progressed onto time trialing and Audax riding.

After setting up the shop with my husband John Rowland I began to get hooked on Mountain biking. This lead to me eventually representing Great Britain at the World Championships in Mount ST Anne Quebec (master's category).
